Got an opportunity :

The mobilization trip of Mr. Harshad Kocharekar and Miss Yogita Kode did bring awareness in this small hamlet of the Kalse family of Nagesh Karudekar.

The people of Kalse are enterprising strong and tenacious, they diligently tilled their fields, but they also applied themselves to different crafts and industrial activities such as brick making, wood working.

Some information and news about Nagesh early childhood can be gleaned from his parents. He loved field work, cows and sheep. Nagesh would run to the fields to play. He loved his family and friends. This formed a common horizon of love. Walking along verdant fields for miles to school made him so strong with nature. His thread of kindness towards domesticate animals was never broken. He is very creative in flower decoration or stage setting.

Beyond the expectation

Nagesh never ever thought of going out of his village for any further education, no one encouraged or guided him. This village Kalse is so far from Tal- Kudal and yet Nagesh made it to the centre because he believed in his trainer Mr. Harshad. He grabbed this opportunity to learn ahead and support his parents. Secondly his friends and parents backed him up to follow his dream which was freely given by the government.

His parents accompanied him for the 1st time to the centre to know more about this project. Everyday his mother would pack his lunch for the day and leave him to the early morning bus before dawn and in the evening before sun set he would run home for the sake of his cattle. This training has definitely helped him to move above with the affluent society in Pune in Mast- Kalandar.

His ambition is to be a Restaurant Manager one day, bring his family to Pune and show them his workplace. The village folk are really happy with his decision. He has promised his near and dear friends to complete this course like him and be some one great!

Got an opportunity :

After studding my 12th had no other option, neither there are no collages nor anyone to guide for further studies. There are some of the school but not any center for professional courses to give direction to the career. There are no coaching classes either. Accidentally I came to know through the newspaper Tarun Bharat, regards the ISAP at Oros Auxilium that it is providing short term market oriented courses free of cost initiated by govt.

I spoke to my father who willingly supported me to do the course. I called up to Sr. Sera on given number and she at once put me at ease. She asked me to get ration card Xerox and all the other required documents besides BPL dakhala signed by BDO.

On 16th July with my father I made my way to Auxilium Oros. Like me there were many youth, the hall was packed to capacity with parents and youth. This was beyond my expectation. Nowhere in Sindhudurg district you find one speaking so fluently in English and Marathi as the sisters here in Auxilium.

After counseling, I nearly grabbed this golden opportunities and enrolled myself for BSPA, after the interest inventory test taken by one of the trainers.

From 16th July onwards Mr. Harshad, Sr. Sera, Miss Charushila and Miss Yogita began to give us input sessions on various topics like time management, Motivation towards the jobs, How to make use of the opportunities. I am thankful of government for initiating this program for betterment of BPL people.

I attended this course everyday without any leave, along with attending the course I taken the responsibilities of my home also.

I had the good support of my elderly parents who are farmers. My mother is poor illiterate women while my father is a farmer. As my parents cannot afford to pay such exurban fees of Pvt. Schools a being the eldest I would likes to support my family and therefore I stepped forward.

After attending the metering with the staff members of Oras and meeting other students my interest increased in particular towards all the domains. I saw the hospitality students their grooming and personality development. It boosted my moral. This helped me to work forward with zeal for life and work.

My parents are keen about my studies as a nurse "they say this learning is an asset to the family and society at large scale." They are proud of me and I want me to make them proud by taking up job as nurse in the nearby hospital.
